    Description

    I am guessing that this hand painted silk parasol was manufactured in Japan and that it dates from the 1970's or 80's!! There are no manufacturer's markings on it!! It is in EXCELLENT condition with no holes or tears in the silk and no damage to the bamboo shaft or spines!! Approx. 21.5" long X 30.5" in diameter when open!! There is no "catch" to keep it open so I am guessing it was used for ceremonial dances using the hands to keep it open while twirling it!!
